Moylagh v Duleek/ Bellewstown
Date: Saturday 6th May
Full Time Result Moylagh 3-12 Duleek/ Bellewstown 2-15
Moylagh travelled to Bellewstown on Saturday evening for the first round of the Junior Championship. Moylagh got off to a blistering start with Orla Tuite scoring a goal and point within minutes of the ball being thrown in. Duleek/Bellewstown took a while to find their feet as Moylagh continued to dominate with Therese Muldoon taking a well struck goal which left moylagh ahead 2-2 to no score. In the second half however Duleek/Bellewstown came out very strong and Moylagh had to fight hard as they went 4 points behind.Moylagh never gave up and their strong bench was called upon when Eimear Guirke came on in the second half. Eimear instantly caused trouble for the Duleek/B defence as Moylagh were awarded a penalty as Eimear was fouled in the box. Orla Tuite once again left little chance for the Duleek/Bellewstown goaly as she struck her 2nd goal of the day. The game was extremely tight throughout and when the referee blew up the whistle a draw was a fair result. Moylagh now prepare for the second round of the championship about Walterstown next weekend.

Monday 11th July.
Moylagh travelled up to Stamullen for the third round of championship. St pats opened the game in the first couple of minutes with a point. Moylagh were very unlucky to concede a goal as the ball was lobbed over the keeper’s head shortly after. However, Moylagh finally got going and scored their first point. Super defending showed by Fiona McGrath making it difficult for st pats to achieve scores.
Half time St. Pats 1.5, Moylagh 0.7
Great attacking showed by Sinead Gilsenan in the second half where Moylagh gained more momentum. A powerful goal for Moylagh revived the team. In the last 10 minutes both teams were down to 14 players due to injury and a sin binning. An additional 3 minutes injury time was added on. Moylagh had the fitness and determination to hold the 5 point lead.

Moylagh's Eanna Brody with Stephen Connolly Clonard
Moylagh 2-13 Clonard 1-11
Played in Moylagh in blistering Sunday morning sunshine, the home side led from pillar to post after Eanna Brody netted the first score of the game after three minutes and it was that goal that remained between the teams from most of the first half thanks too some fine save by save by goalkeeper Aengus Fanning.
Sean Reilly kicked two fine points and Tommy O'Reilly converted the frees before Brody pounced for his second major just on the stroke of half time to give Moylagh a five point lead 2-5 to 0-6 at the break.
Clonard to their credit came out strong in the second half and scored a well worked goal, and with eight minutes remaining had Moylagh's lead down to two but thats as good as it got for them as Moylagh closed out the game with scores from the boots of Joe Meila, the Reillys and Brody.
In a good team performance Darren and Shane Gibney, the Reillys, Joe Meila and Brody stood out.
