St Brigids 3-08

Moylagh remain unbeaten in Division 4 after overcoming St Brigids with a strong second half display in Ballinacree.

St Brigids opened the scoring with twp points before Moylagh replied with a goal from Thomas O'Reilly and two points, one a 45 metrer kick from Justin O'Reilly and a point from Shane Brody. St Brigids goaled from the penalty spot and added futher points.

Despite being outplayed for much of the second half a late Justin O Reilly pointed free rescued a point for understrength Moylagh in the Junior A championship on Friday.

Moylagh began brightly and opened up a 2 point lead in the first 10 minutes, but Bective slowly began to get the upper hand and were 2 points to the good with half time approaching.  However,Tommy o Reilly found the net with a fine goal on the stroke of half time to put Moylagh a point to the good at the break.

Moylagh defeat Drumconrath

Moylagh moved closer to the knockout stages of the Junior A championship with a hard earned victory over bottom of the table Drunconrath on Saturday evening in Kilberry.

After a slow start in the first half, Moylagh led by five points at half time with Shane Brody netting a goal on the stroke of half time, 1-4 to 0-2.

Moylagh upped the tempo in the second half scoring three points in quick succession, before Drumconrath replied with a goal and two points. But this was as close as they got as Moylagh replied with Justin O'Reilly scoring a goal after a fine move.

Our Junior Ds will play neighbours Ballinlough on Sunday at 2pm in Athboy.

A late brace of goals from Shane Nolan wasn't enough in the Junior Hurling Championship first round. After a bright start, Moylagh were 10 points down at half time. Moylagh was dealt a further blow with Thomas Melia and Sean óg Doyne having to come of before half time. Moylagh were again slow in the second half but a late rally saw Moylagh finish strong.

Best for Moylagh were: KEVIN FOLEY.   ANDY Mc CREEVY, SHANE  NOLAN  AND  SUBS CIARAN FOLEY AND LUKE NOLAN.
