Moylagh GAA will take on the task of cleaning up our roads as our annual Spring takes place again this April. We ask any available parish members to join us at Moylagh Community Centre on Saturday 9th April at 9am where bags and gloves (as donated by AN Taisce) will be provided. The more people we have to help out on the day, the more roads we will get cleaned. We urge you to help out on the day and help keep our parish litter free.

Moylagh ladies made the long journey to Summerhill worthwhile with a one point victory over the home team. The Moylagh side held possession for most of the game but could not capitalise on numerous scoring opportunities. They held on though in what was a very exciting encounter with Goalie Sorcha Grall making some great saves. Best for the winners were Amanda O Reilly, Donna Garry, Claire Griffin and Marie Masterson.

Full-ttime score: Moylagh 3-15     Summerhill 5-8

Moylagh    5-9

Longwood   2-9

Moylagh found the net 5 times to overcome the challenge of hosts Longwood in this exciting A League Div. 4 tie on Sunday.

Longwood started the match brightly and were a goal to the good within 5 minutes, with their forward line looking very dangerous and Moylaghs defence looking very exposed at times. Moylagh were struggling to get into the pace of the game early on but were boosted by a brilliant individual goal from William McGrath after 10 minutes which gave them a foothold in the game. Two more fine goals from Justin O Reilly had Moylagh ahead at the break by 2 points, 3-2 to 1-6, a lead they scarcely deserved with mistakes and indisclipline marring their first half performance.

Moylagh produced a much better second half as they tightened up considerably at the back keeping Longwood at arms length and with Keith and Tommy o Reilly firing 2 more goals in the last 10 minutes, they could look forward to their second victory in the competition. Veteran midfielder John Cullinane fired a stunning late consolation goal for Longwood.

Moylagh; M Corrigan, A Hand, B Garaghty, K O Reilly(1-0), S Martin, M Quinn, P Grall, J Melia(0-2), C Fanning, T O Reilly(1-0), S Brody, E Boyle, W Mc Grath(1-1), P Fox(0-1), J O Reilly(2-5). Subs K Foley, E Brody, S Nolan

Moylagh 2-15

St Vincents  1-4

A severely understrength Moylagh side travelled to Ardcath on Monday evening and recorded a spirited victory over a dissappointing home side. Moylagh, who were scraping the proverbial barrel with veteren forward Paddy McCormack acting as stand-in keeper, dominated from the start and thanks to a Tommy O Reilly goal were comfortably ahead at the break on a 1-9 to 0-3 scoreline.

St Vincents improved after the break as Moylagh took their foot off the pedal but never got close to the victors and when crowd favourite Shane Brody fisted a second goal, it was all over bar the shouting.

Moylagh; PJ McCormack, E Boyle, B Geraghty, K O Reilly, S Martin,MT Quinn, P Traynor, J Melia, C Fanning, T O Reilly, D O Growney, P Fox, D Hand, A Fanning, S Brody. Subs C Hannon, D Flood42
