Moylagh     2-9

Kilmanham  1-7

Moylagh booked a quarter final encounter with Drumbaragh following this convincing win over Kilmanham in sunny Ballinlough on Sunday.

Kilmanham started positively and could have had two goals in the opening 10 minutes but for some great blocking by the Moylagh full back line.Moylagh steadied the ship and with the help of fine points from Aaron Hand and Willie McGrath along with a Justin O Reilly penalty goal, they went in ahead at the break on a 1-4 to 0-6 scoreline.

It was all Moylagh after the break with their midfield dominating and when Joe Melia fisted another goal on the halfway point of the half it all but killed off the Kilmanham challenge. Indeed the losers had to wait until the 20th minute of the half to register their only point of the half while their goal came in the dying moments of the match.

Moylagh manager Des Hamilton wont be getting carried away by this win as Moylagh were slow to translate possession into scores and this will be found out in the knockout stages if they dont show more of a killer instinct in front of goal.

Moylagh; D Traynor, A Hand(0-1), B Geraghty, P Traynor, S Martin, MT Quinn, P Fox(0-2), J Melia(1-0), C Fanning, T O Reilly(0-3), R O Reilly, E Boyle, W McGrath(0-1), E Brody, J O Reilly(1-2). Subs P Grall, D O Growney.
