Inny Gaels  2-13

Castletown  1-7

Inny Gaels produced a workmanlike performance to easily overcome the challenge of Castletown in the U21 B Championship in Moynalty on Saturday.

The early exchanges were evenly contested but as the half progressed Inny Gaels began to take control with William McGrath tormenting their backline and setting up the equally impressive Killian Kiernan for a fine goal which put them in control coming up to the break. Fine points from  Sean og Doyne,  Rory Geraghty,Mcgrath and Kiernan had the victors in front by 1-7 to 0-3 at half time.

Castletown made several positional changes for the second half and they produced a better performance  but with Tommy O Reilly and Aaron Skelly solid in defence for Inny Gaels they never looked like getting back on terms. When Niall Mclarney shot a second Inny Gaels goal and Doyne found the target from a near impossible angle, they could start planning ahead for a final showdown with St Pats.

Inny Gaels; D Geraghty, A Skelly, K Foley, E Grall, T O Reilly, P Grall, E Brody(0-1), S Nolan, K Kiernan(1-1), R Geraghty(0-4), N McLarney(1-0), S Doyne(0-2), W Mcgrath(0-5). Subs; K Hannon, P Clerkin, L Tuite, S Gilsenan.
