Venue: Trim
Result: Moylagh 0-11 Dunsany 3-05
3 opportunist goals by Dunsany were the difference in this hard fought Junior Championship first round clash in Trim.
Playing against the wind in the first half Moylagh showed well racking up 6 points to Dunsany’s 1. However a goal mid-way through the half kept Dunsany in touch with the half time score of Moylagh 0-6 to Dunsany 1-1.
Moylagh suffered a blow early in the half as Eamon Boyle was shown a red card in spite of this they reacted well and raced into a 5 point lead with about 15 minutes to go. However Dunsany began to turn the tables and a second goal coupled with the man advantage saw them draw level in the closing minutes. A superb penalty save from Niall McNeilis looked to have given Moylagh a lift in the closing moments but Dunsany had the last say as they struck with a third and decisive goal late on to see them home by three points.
Despite the loss Moylagh put in a good team performance and can build on this for later in season. Best for Moylagh were Peter Fox; Danny O’Growney and Willie McGrath
