Div 3 Hurling Rd1. Moylagh v Trim

Moylagh got the hurling season off to a loosing start at home to a strong trim team on Saturday afternoon. Trim got off to a flying start but goals from Sean Og Doyne and Ollie Melia and brilliant points from William McGrath and Eanna Brody had Moylagh ahead half way through the first half.

Trim rallied back and  led  1 -13  to  2 - 05  at half time.
It was only in the last ten minutes that Trim got on top and opened up a ten point lead which they held till the end .
William McGrath was outstanding scoring  ten  points in a man of the match performance.
Eanna Brody and Paddy Grall also played well at midfield as did the Foley brothers Kevin and Ciaran in the back lines.

Moylagh v Longwood

Venue: Moylagh
Moylagh’s first home game of the season ended in disappointment as the home side were out-manoeuvred by an impressive Longwood side.
Despite a spirited effort by the home side their inefficient use of possession was punished on numerous occasions by the clinical visitors.
Best for the home side were Ciaran Hannon; Danny O’Growney and William McGrath

Slane v Moylagh - Match Report

Result: Slane 2-05 Moylagh 3-10
Venue: Slane
Moylagh kicked off their season with a winning start in Slane on Sunday. Moylagh took full advantage of the wind in the first half to open up a commanding lead at half time of 2-7 to 0-2.
Despite a spirited fight back and concerted pressure from Slane in the second half. Moylagh were able to keep the score board ticking over and held on to record a 3-10 to 2-5 victory.
Best for Moylagh in an excellent team performance were top scorer Willie McGrath; Danny O’Growney and defenders Shane Grall and Evan Grall
