Moylagh 5-9
Longwood 2-9
Moylagh found the net 5 times to overcome the challenge of hosts Longwood in this exciting A League Div. 4 tie on Sunday.
Longwood started the match brightly and were a goal to the good within 5 minutes, with their forward line looking very dangerous and Moylaghs defence looking very exposed at times. Moylagh were struggling to get into the pace of the game early on but were boosted by a brilliant individual goal from William McGrath after 10 minutes which gave them a foothold in the game. Two more fine goals from Justin O Reilly had Moylagh ahead at the break by 2 points, 3-2 to 1-6, a lead they scarcely deserved with mistakes and indisclipline marring their first half performance.
Moylagh produced a much better second half as they tightened up considerably at the back keeping Longwood at arms length and with Keith and Tommy o Reilly firing 2 more goals in the last 10 minutes, they could look forward to their second victory in the competition. Veteran midfielder John Cullinane fired a stunning late consolation goal for Longwood.
