The combined efforts of Kilskyre and Moylagh, who on paper have the potential to be serious contenders for this under 21B Hurling Championship, saw off a strong Navan O'Mahony's side in Grangegodden on Halloween Bank Holiday Monday.

In bad weather conditions Kilskyre/Moylagh dominated the first half in all areas, with Colm Melia cleaning everything up in the full back line and he was the launching pad for most attacks.

With the Geraghty brothers Michael and Seanie dominating midfield and Niall Farrelly scoring some delightful points from play along with the outstanding Willie Mc Grath with his electric pace and his ability to take scores from play and placed balls was a treat to watch.

Kilskyre/Moylagh went in at half time 1-9 to 0-4 the better. In the second half O'Mahony's tried to bring back the score line but it was the Kilskyre/Moylagh outfit who pulled away with Charles Brogan in superb form with his direct running at goal.

The combined outfit ran out easy winners in the end with a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-7. All round it was a superb team preformance with Colm Melia, Ewen Feeney, Gary Reilly and James Baugh in defence, Michael and Seanie Geraghty in midfield, Niall Farrelly, Willie Mc Grath, Charles Brogan and Daire Farrelly when introduced in the forwards.

Kilskyre/Moylagh move into the next round with a team full of confidence. Final score in Grangegodden Kilskyre/Moylagh 4-11 Navan O'Mahony's 1-7.
